Sometimes, when opportunity comes knocking, you just have to push open the door. So it came about that I am planning and executing a FED in a week! Now that I have two FEDs under my belt, I had to raise the bar and make things more challenging for myself... (now that's being fearless!) Seriously though, I couldn't be more excited for FED tomorrow night -- and if I can make it happen, you can, too, and attend, right?
So, what's this FED about? We are super-lucky to have Eduardo Placer presenting a FED talk on: "Be Fearless: Using Mind, Body and Voice to Break Through Fear."
Eduardo was a professional actor for 13 years, and is currently Founder & CEO of Fearless Communicators -- arming individuals with tools to push past their fear of public speaking by embracing the concept of public sharing. Fearless Communicators approaches the event of sharing as an intersection of voice, body and mind so that participants in this work learn to share from a place of power as opposed to a place of panic.
What are you afraid of? Where in your life do you wish you could be more fearless? What's holding you back? Get ready to confront these and other deep questions -- don't worry, we're a supportive community, and there will be food...
Food?! Yes, I've dreamed up another extensive menu, drawing on the theme of trying different experiences and stepping outside your comfort zone. The menu will feature dishes representing all five of the basic tastes: sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, and umami (savory).
And here it is:
Appetizers:
Homemade soft pretzels (Salty)
Baked gooseberry brie (Sweet)
Lemon Hummus (Sour)
Habanero Salsa (Spicy)
Grapefruit avocado salad with honey-mint dressing (Bitter)
Soup:
Tomato parmesan soup (Umami)
Main Course
Squash pie with brown sugar and cinnamon (Sweet)
Spaghetti with Mascarpone, Meyer Lemon, Spinach, and Hazelnuts (Sour)
Salmon with black bean chocolate chili (Bitter and spicy)
Portabella Parmesan Umami burgers (Umami)
Dessert
Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk, Salted Coffee Caramel & Apple Skillet Cookie (Salty, sour, bitter, sweet, umami)
RSVP here.
See you at FED!
