This Friday night, join us for a FED event featuring Yoni Frenkel.
Yoni will speak about key lessons he learned from his time serving in an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) infantry unit -- in resilience, knowing who you are, and being your best possible self.
For the menu... since we will be discussing the IDF, I turned to the Israeli film "Giv'at Halfon Einah Onah" ("Hill Halfon Doesn't Answer"), a *completely realistic* depiction of life in the army (/sarcasm). In the film, the comedic trio Hagashash Hahiver engages in amusing antics (whether or not they build resilience is another question). One of my favorite moments in the movie is when the army chef suggests that a hungry soldier make himself shakshuka -- with a method that has questionable results.
So, the menu includes shakshuka, of course -- as well as other Israeli treats which may or may not actually be served in the army.
Please note that attendance will be limited to 12 guests. RSVP today!
Menu
First Course
Chopped Salad with Tehina
Beet Dip with Goat Cheese and Hazelnuts
Israeli-Style Fish Cakes (Ktzizot Dagim)
Second Course
Shakshuka
Third Course
Eggplant Shnitzel served over Babaghanush
Roasted Cauliflower and Chickpeas
Fourth Course
Halvah and Walnut Brownie Torte
Cost: $50. RSVP Here!
